We know this road

You hold the ceremony. We hold everything else.

Asdru and Maja are not venue managers. They've been in ceremony themselves — in relationship with the Shipibo-Mahua lineage for 11 years, hosting Maestro Gilberto Mahua at Casa Arkaana. When you arrive, you'll feel the difference. The land recognizes this kind of work.

One group at a time. The temple, the fire circle, the jungle, every ceremony space — entirely yours.

The Temple at Casa Arkaana — ceremony space for plant medicine retreats

The Temple

Before the first ceremony, a Vedic fire asked the land for permission. Quartz runs through the floors and walls — not as decoration, but as intention. Open to the jungle, acoustically alive, held by years of reverent use. Multiple facilitators have named it the most powerful ceremonial container on the Riviera Maya.

Sound bath ceremony inside the temple at Casa Arkaana

Night Ceremony Infrastructure

The temple holds everything your participants need to go deep. Fire circle two minutes away, candlelit paths through the jungle. At night, the land itself becomes the container — the sounds, the darkness, the stillness.

Food as medicine at Casa Arkaana — ceremonial diet support

Ceremonial Diet Support

We've supported dietary protocols for plant medicine work — from pre-ceremony dieta to post-ceremony nourishment. Clean, organic, locally sourced. Tell us what your ceremony requires and we'll adapt the kitchen: food exclusions, medicinal plants, ceremonial-grade preparation.

Maja and Asdru, founders of Casa Arkaana — Shipibo-Mahua lineage

Lineage-Connected Hosts

Asdru and Maja have been in direct relationship with the Shipibo-Mahua lineage for 11 years. They've sat in ceremony, organized ceremonies, and brought Maestro Gilberto Mahua to hold work at Casa Arkaana. This changes the energy of everything — including how your participants are held between sessions.

Discreet logistics support for plant medicine retreats

Discreet Logistics

Ceremonial supply sourcing, altar material coordination, participant airport transfers — all handled with care. We know what this work needs on the ground and we move quietly. One less layer of complexity on your plate.

Aerial view of Casa Arkaana — full exclusivity for ceremonial retreats

Complete Exclusivity

One group at a time. Always. When your first participant arrives, the land is entirely yours — no strangers, no noise, no competing energy. The container stays clean from arrival to final integration circle. Deep ceremonial work requires this. We've built our entire model around it.

"I have visited Casa Arkaana many times, facilitating three women's shamanic retreats here. Each time I visit, the centre evolves and I always feel at home — held by the jungle, the nature and the land that welcomes you with open arms. The energy of the Temple is especially powerful."

"The beauty of this secluded area is that we really got to drop into the heart space of the jungle which allowed us to drop into our own heart spaces. The energy of the land they are located on is powerful, sacred and healing."

Frequently Asked

Questions facilitators ask.

Can we hold ayahuasca and plant medicine ceremonies here?

Yes. Casa Arkaana has held plant medicine and ceremonial work since the beginning. We understand what this requires — privacy, protection, space and genuine reverence. Asdru and Maja have been in direct relationship with the Shipibo-Mahua lineage for 11 years and have hosted Maestro Gilberto Mahua to facilitate at Casa Arkaana.

How is the temple set up for night-long ceremonies?

The temple is set up for the full arc of a night ceremony: memory foam mats, cushions and blankets for every participant, personal buckets, tissue, candles, altar at the center, drinking water throughout. Bathrooms are a few steps away. The fire circle is a few meters from the temple. The space is fully mosquito-proofed, open so the wind moves through freely. At night, the sounds, the darkness, the stillness — the land holds the work.

What is the screening and safety protocol for plant medicine retreats?

We work with you before arrival to understand your participant intake process, health contraindications, and emergency plan. Tulum has 24/7 emergency infrastructure nearby — hospital, clinic, ambulance access. Maja and Asdru are reachable around the clock during your retreat. We ask that all facilitators have trained lineage, clear consent agreements, and integration plans in place — this is non-negotiable on our end.

Can you support a ceremonial diet (dieta) protocol with the kitchen?

Yes. We've supported dietary protocols for plant medicine work — from pre-ceremony preparation to post-ceremony nourishment. Talk to us about what your specific ceremony requires. Our kitchen is clean, ingredient-transparent, and flexible. We can arrange locally sourced medicinal plants, specific food exclusions, and ceremonial-grade preparation.

What is the minimum group size, and do you work with small invitation-only groups?

We hold plant medicine work for groups of 8–16, with a preference for smaller, invitation-based groups when the depth of the work calls for it. We'll discuss your participant approach before booking — not to gatekeep, but to ensure our space is the right container for your specific work. We're not suited for recreational or high-volume ceremonial tourism.

Do you have local ceremonial support available?

We have a trusted network of experienced practitioners — ceremonial assistants, sound healers, bodyworkers, and integration guides we've worked with for years. We can make introductions when your facilitation needs additional ground support.

What does on-the-ground support look like during plant medicine work?

Asdru and Maja are present and reachable throughout your retreat — not hovering, but close. They hold the logistical container: meal timing aligned to your ceremony arc, guest needs, and the unexpected. They understand the rhythm of plant medicine work — when to disappear into the background and when a familiar, grounded presence is needed.
