One group at a time. A spiritually held jungle sanctuary for plant wisdom ceremonies and integration — lineage-connected, deeply private, built for the depth this work demands.
Asdru and Maja are not venue managers. They've been in ceremony themselves — in relationship with the Shipibo-Mahua lineage for 11 years, hosting Maestro Gilberto Mahua at Casa Arkaana. When you arrive, you'll feel the difference. The land recognizes this kind of work.
One group at a time. The temple, the fire circle, the jungle, every ceremony space — entirely yours.

"I have visited Casa Arkaana many times, facilitating three women's shamanic retreats here. Each time I visit, the centre evolves and I always feel at home — held by the jungle, the nature and the land that welcomes you with open arms. The energy of the Temple is especially powerful."
"The beauty of this secluded area is that we really got to drop into the heart space of the jungle which allowed us to drop into our own heart spaces. The energy of the land they are located on is powerful, sacred and healing."
"Casa Arkaana is one of my favourite retreat centres of all time. You can feel the love and attention to detail, including preserving the land and ancestral ways. Thank you to this beautiful family & their creation."
"Asdru and Maja are great hosts. From the moment we got there, we are taken care of. Attention to detail, clean rooms, delicious food and fantastic staff. Casa Arkaana delivered peace and tranquility for our retreat."

"It's our favorite place to hold retreats. There's a sense of peace and tranquility in the air at all times. I highly recommend Casa Arkaana for organizing retreats or ceremonies."
Yes. Casa Arkaana has held plant medicine and ceremonial work since the beginning. We understand what this requires — privacy, protection, space and genuine reverence. Asdru and Maja have been in direct relationship with the Shipibo-Mahua lineage for 11 years and have hosted Maestro Gilberto Mahua to facilitate at Casa Arkaana.
The temple is set up for the full arc of a night ceremony: memory foam mats, cushions and blankets for every participant, personal buckets, tissue, candles, altar at the center, drinking water throughout. Bathrooms are a few steps away. The fire circle is a few meters from the temple. The space is fully mosquito-proofed, open so the wind moves through freely. At night, the sounds, the darkness, the stillness — the land holds the work.
We work with you before arrival to understand your participant intake process, health contraindications, and emergency plan. Tulum has 24/7 emergency infrastructure nearby — hospital, clinic, ambulance access. Maja and Asdru are reachable around the clock during your retreat. We ask that all facilitators have trained lineage, clear consent agreements, and integration plans in place — this is non-negotiable on our end.
Yes. We've supported dietary protocols for plant medicine work — from pre-ceremony preparation to post-ceremony nourishment. Talk to us about what your specific ceremony requires. Our kitchen is clean, ingredient-transparent, and flexible. We can arrange locally sourced medicinal plants, specific food exclusions, and ceremonial-grade preparation.
We hold plant medicine work for groups of 8–16, with a preference for smaller, invitation-based groups when the depth of the work calls for it. We'll discuss your participant approach before booking — not to gatekeep, but to ensure our space is the right container for your specific work. We're not suited for recreational or high-volume ceremonial tourism.
We have a trusted network of experienced practitioners — ceremonial assistants, sound healers, bodyworkers, and integration guides we've worked with for years. We can make introductions when your facilitation needs additional ground support.
Asdru and Maja are present and reachable throughout your retreat — not hovering, but close. They hold the logistical container: meal timing aligned to your ceremony arc, guest needs, and the unexpected. They understand the rhythm of plant medicine work — when to disappear into the background and when a familiar, grounded presence is needed.
