We know this road

You bring the work. We hold everything else.

We're not just your hosts — we're facilitators ourselves. We've sat on both sides of this: the marketing, the planning calls, the logistics, the 2am messages, the moments that test everyone in the group including you. Four years, more than forty retreats. We know what it takes because we've lived it.

One group at a time. Five acres of jungle, every ceremony space, every room — entirely yours.

The Temple at Casa Arkaana — ceremony circle with meditation mats

The Temple

Before it was built, it was blessed. A Vedic fire ceremony with Ganesha marked the ground. Quartz runs through the floors and walls — not as decoration, but as intention. Facilitators who've held ceremony here tend to come back. Some call it the most powerful container on the Riviera Maya. We just call it home.

Food as medicine at Casa Arkaana

Food as Medicine

We believe what you eat shapes what you can hold. Every meal is made from fresh, carefully selected ingredients — organic wherever possible, locally sourced wherever we can. Our food forest is growing — fruit trees, citrus, banana, papaya, mango — and we draw from it as it gives. Tell us what your group needs and we'll design the menu around it.

Marketing partnership support

Marketing Partnership

When you book with us, we become part of your promotional team — listing your retreat on our website, sharing it across our Instagram community, and sending it to our database of past guests and seekers. We also provide a professional media kit with drone footage and property imagery for your own channels. Tell us where you are in your process and we'll find the right way to support you.

Maja and Asdru, founders of Casa Arkaana

Close, Not Constant

Maja or Asdru will find you each day — sometimes at the morning table, sometimes at dusk, sometimes when the ceremony calls for a familiar face. Not managing, not monitoring. Just present in the way that people who care about a place tend to be.

Logistics and transfer services

Logistics & Transfer

Coordinating transport for a group in an unfamiliar country is its own full-time job. We've done it enough times to have the right contacts. Airport transfers, cenote and beach excursions, ceremony supply sourcing, car rental referrals — we point you in the right direction or coordinate it directly. And for those who need it, we issue correct Mexican tax receipts. One less thing to figure out.

Aerial view of Casa Arkaana veranda and jungle

Exclusivity

One of the first things facilitators ask us: do we have the whole property to ourselves? The answer is always yes. One group at a time — no shared spaces, no overlapping energies, no strangers crossing through your ceremony. The container stays clean from arrival to departure. Deep work needs that. Your participants deserve it.

"I have visited Casa Arkaana many times, facilitating three women's shamanic retreats here. Each time I visit, the centre evolves and I always feel at home — held by the jungle, the nature and the land that welcomes you with open arms. The energy of the Temple is especially powerful."

"The beauty of this secluded area is that we really got to drop into the heart space of the jungle which allowed us to drop into our own heart spaces. The energy of the land they are located on is powerful, sacred and healing."

Frequently Asked

Questions facilitators ask.

Do you support somatic and trauma-informed work?

Yes. Our space is built for slow, regulation-first work. Asdru and Maja hold the logistical container so you can hold the nervous-system container. One group at a time, always.

How quiet is the space for deep regulation?

Casa Arkaana sits on 5 acres of private jungle. No overlapping groups. Natural soundscape — birds, wind, cicadas at dusk — rather than music or ambient noise. Evenings are protected quiet hours.

Can we have full privacy from other guests?

Yes. We host one retreat at a time. When your group arrives, the land is yours — the pool, the temple, the dining area, the gardens. No other facilitators, no other groups.

What's your emergency and medical protocol during deep work?

Tulum has 24/7 emergency infrastructure within reach — hospital, ambulance, and clinic access. Maja and Asdru are reachable around the clock during your retreat, we maintain a stocked first-aid station, and we coordinate with you in advance on participant intake so our team knows what to watch for. For breathwork or trauma work with specific contraindications, we walk your intake process with you before arrival.

There's no air conditioning — how do participants actually sleep and regulate in the heat?

Bioclimatic architecture is the answer: high ceilings, cross-ventilation, deep jungle canopy shade, and natural thermal mass keep the rooms noticeably cooler than the outside air. Every bed has a ceiling fan and mosquito net. We're transparent about seasonality — the hotter months run warmer, and we'll share a seasonal climate guide you can send participants pre-arrival so expectations are set.

What does on-the-ground support actually look like during our retreat?

Maja and Asdru are founder-hosts, not absentee owners. They hold the logistical container: meal timing aligned to your arc, session transitions, participant requests, and surprises. Before arrival we do a planning call to map your schedule to our rhythms. During the retreat, you have one point of contact, reachable at all hours. The goal is for you to facilitate — not manage operations.

Will the solar power hold for a 3-hour breathwork session with sound, or an evening ceremony with projection?

Our solar bank is sized for full retreat operations including amplified sound, lighting, and kitchen — not just lights-out living. If your session needs a specific power draw (large sound system, projection, etc.), we spec it with you in advance so there are no surprises. In 40+ retreats, we have not had a ceremony interrupted by power.

Have you hosted somatic, breathwork, and trauma-informed retreats before?

Yes — Casa Arkaana has held somatic, breathwork, polyvagal, and embodiment retreats led by international facilitators. We can connect you with past retreat leaders as references before you commit. Maja and Asdru have lived the modalities themselves, which is why the land and container were built the way they were. We're not a hotel that also takes retreats — we're a retreat venue designed around this work from day one.

What's included in the price, and what's your cancellation policy?

Your quote is line-itemed: accommodation, all meals, all ceremonial spaces (temple, temazcal, pool, fire circle), founder-hosted support, airport transfer coordination, and standard AV. No surprise meeting-room fees, no ceremony-space surcharges. Cancellation terms are transparent and tiered by distance from the retreat date, with explicit force-majeure coverage for pandemic, natural disaster, and government-restriction scenarios. We share the full contract before any deposit.

Can we hold sessions at night or use The Temple after dark?

Yes. The Temple is available to your group throughout your stay, day and night. Evening and nighttime sessions are welcome. The jungle at night has its own quality of stillness that many facilitators find deepens the work. We simply ask that the broader land agreements around quiet and container integrity are held by your group.
